Assistant Program Director & Student Financial Skills Team, FL Department:Clinical, Financial

Tim was born near Chicago, lived briefly in Arizona, and moved to Florida at the age of six. He attended the University of Central Florida, where he majored in English - Creative Writing and graduated cum laude. His first job at a credit union allowed him the opportunity to train other employees and he realized that teaching was his calling. In 2005 he moved to Barcelona to take a course in teaching English as a second language. He received his certification and began working at International House (an international chain of language schools) in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He remained there for two years, then moved to Hanoi, Vietnam for a full year. In Hanoi he was promoted to Senior Teacher and gained the additional responsibility of training teachers as well as teaching students. He returned to Florida in 2008 and began working at New Directions, where he began tutoring, but moved on to financial, vocational, and academic appointments.  While working at New Directions, he earned a Master's degree in mental health counseling at Florida Atlantic University, and is in the process of getting licensed. Tim enjoys jogging, reading horror stories, watching movies, eating strange food, learning strange phrases in other languages, and, of course, traveling.
