Rana received her Masters of Science for applied psychology with a focus in clinical counseling at Lynn University. During training, she worked with a variety of adults, including clients with personality disorders, substance use disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, and trauma and stress-related disorders. Throughout her training, she studied and practiced using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy, and rational emotive behavioral therapy. Rana facilitates dialectical behavioral therapy groups, in which she assists clients with building skills in:

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness
Another group she facilitates concentrates on social learning. Client's learn by practicing skills and appropriate social behaviors to help them function in social settings and promote independent living. She also facilities intensive outpatient groups that are substance recovery based As a recreational therapist, Rana helps plan, direct, and coordinate recreational and social activities. The recreation-based therapy groups help improve independence in life activities, promote health and wellness as well as reduce or eliminate the limitations and restrictions to participation in life situations caused by an illness or disabling condition.
