Dr. Rubin is a licensed clinical psychologist, founder of the international society for autism (, and the founder and CEO of New Directions for Young Adults, Inc., (Florida and California). Dr. Rubin was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Florida Department of Health/Board of Psychology where he served from August 2013 to August 2020.

Dr. Rubin’s background integrates expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, developmental theory, and neuropsychology into an evidenced-based treatment approach that is both empathic and based on current scientific literature. Dr. Rubin has expertise working in multi-disciplinary treatment settings and is the founder of Direction Therapy (Dt²) a multi-disciplinary treatment model designed specifically for young adults on the Autism spectrum. Dr. Rubin was formerly the lead psychologist at the Unicorn Child Development Clinic (Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies). In this position, he supervised a team of professionals, post-doctoral fellows, doctoral level practicum students, and student interns in the diagnosis and treatment of developmental disorders. He was a leader of many of NSU’s parenting programs, teaching a variety of parenting classes and behavior management strategies.

Dr. Rubin has taught graduate-level courses on child development, infant mental health, child and adult psychopathology, assessment, and therapeutic interventions. He proudly volunteers and has lectured professionally on both university and community levels. Often he speaks on subjects related to the effects of anxiety/depression on social and emotional development..  Prior to working at NSU, Dr. Rubin was on staff at Tulane University’s Department of Psychiatry and Neurology, and Louisiana State University’s Health Science Center. In those roles, he provided treatment and performed comprehensive educational and neuropsychological evaluations.

Bryan Coviello

Bryan Coviello / Registered Clinical Mental Health Counselor, FL

Bryan Coviello received his master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University in 2020. Bryan interned at New Directions a year prior to joining the team full-time. He has past experience working in crisis stabilization at South County Mental Health Center as well as working with youth in a residential academic setting. Bryan uses a multifaceted approach when counseling, which encompasses the holistic, humanistic, and behavioral approaches. He has experience working with young adults with various mental health disorders and dual diagnoses. Outside of counseling, Bryan enjoys spending his free time traveling and staying physically active in the ocean or the basketball court.
Victoria Harne

Victoria Harne, Ms.Ed., LMFT / Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, FL

Victoria Harne is from a small town in Maryland called Mount Airy. She later moved to Florida and was raised in Fort Myers, Florida. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and continued her education at the University of Miami where she received her Master of Science Degree in Education with a major in Marriage and Family Therapy. She now practices therapy as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has a wide variety of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. In the past, Victoria has worked with children in foster care, the Cancer Support Community of Greater Miami, and adolescents in the Department of Juvenile Justice System providing evidence-based Functional Family Therapy. Victoria enjoys spending her free time going to the beach, practicing yoga, and spending time with family, friends, and pets.  
Michael Kellen, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Kellen received his clinical and neuropsychological training at The University of Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska Medical Center, and at the Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He has extensive training and clinical experience working in multidisciplinary settings. Dr. Kellen’s areas of expertise include:
