With the help of New Directions, young adults who previously failed to thrive are experiencing independence for the first time in their lives.
New Directions helps students attend universities, community colleges, and technical/vocational schools. Our staff work closely with students and to provide support for each student’s unique needs and goals. Students live independently in apartments located in close proximity to the New Directions professional offices and receive intensive support to help achieve their goals. New Directions also supports students in developing well-rounded interpersonal skills, with their academic pursuits, in developing successful social interactions, in their preparation for the workforce, and in mastering the life skills needed to live independently.

Students at New Directions Florida live at The Preserve at Deer Creek; a beautifully landscaped apartment complex located within walking distance from the New Directions offices. The Preserve offers an array of spacious one, two, and three bedroom apartments that are pet friendly. Residents also have access to several on site pools, hot tubs, a private weight and fitness center. Click here to learn more about the Preserve at Deer Creek complex.
Many New Directions students come to us with academic goals that have not been able to meet due to challenges. Others become interested in new academic pursuits while in the program. South Florida has many academic opportunities for our students, vocational programs, 2 year community college programs, 4 year college programs and more. Many of our program participants are enrolled at Palm Beach State College, Florida Atlantic University, Atlantic Tech vocational school, Design and Media Arts College to name a few.
In addition, students in our program have access to all the recreational opportunities in the South Florida area. From the beaches of Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Beach to the Florida Everglades, our students can participate in outdoor activities year round. In addition, there are several world class cultural centers in our area including the Adrienne Arsht Center, the new Perez Art Museum, Art Basel Miami and more.
