We Mourn the Loss of Dr. Robert Schleser, distinguished professor at the Illinois Institute of Psychology (IIT), Lewis College of Human Sciences.

Dr. Drew Rubin

I am sad to announce today the passing of Dr. Robert Schleser, Ph.D, a friend, former graduate school advisor, and distinguished professor at the Illinois Institute of Psychology (IIT), Lewis College of Human Sciences.

Dr. Schleser was the director and clinical advisor for “Lab 277,” a team of graduate and undergraduate students at IIT dedicated to research and  clinical work in the field of child psychology. Dr. Schleser earned his Ph.D. from Memphis State University in 1981 and was a Vietnam war veteran. His areas of interest and research included educational evaluation, cognitive development, socialization, and sport psychology. Dr. Schleser advised each member of Lab 277 and assisted them in progressing through their graduate studies on their way to becoming a mature clinician and/or researcher. I will forever be indebted to Dr. Schleser for his professional guidance and friendship.  He has been a fundamental part of his students graduate school careers for over thirty years. Thank you Bob for all the contributions you have made to Lab 277, to society, and to the field of psychology.  Your influence will continue to exist. We are going to miss you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rubin
