With the help of New Directions, young adults who previously failed to thrive are experiencing independence for the first time in their lives.We provide young adults with the opportunity to pursue higher education, vocational goals, and transition into independence.
New Directions helps students attend universities, community colleges, and technical and vocational schools.Our staff works closely with students to enhance their transitions. We provide support for each student’s unique needs and goals.Students live independently in apartments located within the same living space as the New Directions offices/staff and receive intensive support to achieve their goals.
New Directions helps students develop the well-rounded interpersonal skills required to have successful social interactions, prepare for the workforce and master the life skills needed to live independently.
New Directions is a comprehensive program that provides structured tutoring so as to enhance academic skills.We facilitate group outings to develop social skills, and we provide instruction in independent living skills, such as grocery shopping, cooking and paying bills.
